If you are looking for ways to feel energized, inspired and joyful in the mornings then you gotta’ read this post. I am really excited to share with you today because my life started to transform most powerfully when I began to practice a daily Morning Ritual and I know it can transform yours too!
Before practicing my morning ritual (based off of the Soulful morning Ritual created by Jeannine Yoder found here: http://jeannineyoder.com), I woke up every morning feeling miserable and discouraged and as I went through my morning, negative thoughts were stuck on repeat in my head, “I’m exhausted. I’m so tired. I can’t do this.” It was a mantra but not one that I intentionally chose and it drained me even further of energy, creativity and peacefulness. I often was irritable and short tempered until I created a morning ritual for myself and everything changed.
Once I started practicing my ritual, I felt energized, hopeful, more connected to others and much more intentional about what I was thinking and doing. You too can create your own ritual to transform your mornings! Start off the day feeling positivity, gratitude, love and energy.
Here are important elements for your transformative morning ritual:
1. Pick a time that you can consistently have about 10 to 15 minutes to engage with yourself. Every morning at that time, commit to your practice. It can be most powerful if you are able to do this right at waking. I usually completed mine after baby was taken care of and I was on my way to work.
2. Create a positive mantra for wake up. It can be simple as, “I am going to make this a good day.” or “I can do this.” Every morning, when you wake up tell yourself your mantra instead of thinking about how tired you are or your to do list
3. Treat your body by creating a symbolic stretch or pose that makes you feel strong, energized or powerful. Try standing like Wonder Woman or a yoga pose like Mountain pose or Warrior 2. Be sure to take deep, slow inhales and exhales as you hold the pose.
4. Talk out loud about all that you absolutely love about your life. Set an intention to choose faith over fear. Decide ahead of time what you are choosing faith about.
5. Ask yourself, “How can I show love to the world today?” and listen for the answer. Pick one thing. Make it happen.
6. Write down and/or talk about what you are grateful for. Feel what it’s like to genuinely appreciate the people, places and things you have in this beautiful, abundant life.
I invite you to create your own ritual and try practicing every day (or as many days as you can) for a week (or even better a month!).
In the comments area below, tell me how your mind and heart start to shift. I would so very much love to hear your story.
